Strv 103B - 3 Marks of Excellence

One of the hardest tier 10 challenges during the old meta, it relied heavily on the map rotation and team efficiency. During the old meta, the Strv 103B could climb hills and other unreachable spots on the map that other tanks could not even do. Most notable map examples are Mountain Pass, Redshire, and Sacred Valley. Now in the new meta, the Strv 103B will not be able to climb to unreachable spots on these maps, the requirements for 3 marks in the new meta are lower than the old meta.

The Strv 103B has the second highest damage per minute (DPM) in the game after the FV217 Badger. The Strv 103B is undoubtedly the sniper's dream vehicle with nearly perfect accuracy & zero aiming time in Siege Mode, absurdly quick shell velocity, and -11 degrees of gun depression. To further complement these traits, the Strv 103B has one of the highest camouflage ratings in the game with a -45 km/h reverse speed to back off from trouble quickly. The vehicle tends to rotate too quickly during siege mode, causing the hull to recoil slightly, affecting the gun's horizontal stabilisation. During gun elevation and depression, the gun moves accordingly to the hull's position. This allows vertical armour positioning to protect the weak cupola or the lower hull. The Strv 103B has a huge grill that acts as spaced armour that is invincible to all types of shells except HE shells. There is a small gap in the middle of the grill to make way for the gun placement. By aiming at the middle of the grill, the shell might damage the gun, but the shell will damage the armour of the vehicle. In order to avoid this from happening, the Strv 103B must switch to Siege Mode, move up and down a slope, dance slightly to the left and right, and elevate & depress the gun. During a one-on-one battle with another Strv 103B, both standard APCR and premium APCR shells will have difficulties penetrating every part of the frontal armour. However it is possible for the enemy to penetrate the cupola with HE shells. The Strv 103B could imitate some LTs and MTs at passively scouting or hardly active scouting due to the absurd camouflage rating and well rounded speed. If the Strv 103B is spotted, it always retreats backwards  while moving slightly to the left and right, using the spaced armour as the frontal shield. The real danger is having broken tracks while moving because the Strv 103B's hull will rotate in the direction of the broken track, exposing the weak sides to the enemy flank. The Strv 103B is one of the most attractive targets of SPGs, so it is best to stay hidden behind cover in open maps most of the time. The Strv 103B has a high chance catching on fire when the lower glacis is hit. Due to this, always position the Strv 103B behind a small slope. In some rare cases, the Strv 103B could brawl with larger enemies while in Travel Mode.

Question and Answers:

1. Why I used Coated Optics instead of Binoculars?

I felt that the Strv 103B constantly needs view range even when moving to another location so I can actively spot enemies.

2. List of directives that I have used during the challenge:

Experienced Firefighters 89% - 93% , Natural Cover 93% - 95%.

3. Why is the average damage less than 3000? How is this possible for a tier 10 TD to get 3 marks?

Look at my average assisted damage, it is more than 900 assisted damage. I played this tank more aggressively than many other players, I tried to spot enemies in dangerous locations and I was shooting the enemy's frontal wheel most of the time in order to get the marks easily. I have risked my Strv 103B in many unnecessary situations, high risk high reward.

4. Why did you drop from 93.75% to 89% in your first attempt?

The map rotation was terrible. I had Ensk, Ruinberg (south spawn), Mountain Pass (south spawn), Mannerheim Line (north spawn), Mines (north spawn), Empire's Border, Minsk, Paris, Siegfried Line (0 damage), Tundra, and Erlenberg all in one session. You have no idea how angry and useless I felt that night. It was even streamed on Twitch.

5. Final game?

Live reactions, and live 3 marks.

6. What did you do after losing so many credits spent on premium APCR shells?

Play with Strv S1, money making camper.

7. Did you find it difficult to 3 mark the Strv 103B?

With the terrible map rotation, incompetent teams, poor decision making, and unlucky circumstances. YES. It was difficult. It is not easy to farm damage is easily as I thought from the beginning.
